This photo is really nice because of the contrast. The background of the photo is a medium gray which really makes the darkest darks of the shadows on her cloak and the lightest points around her face really pop out. I also like that the face is the lightest part of the image and it is the first thing you see especially since the subject is almost making eye contact with the viewer.
