Marchesa

http://www.photigy.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/Perfume-webinar1572.jpg
This is another really glamourous product shot. The lighting and colors are really beautiful and it really translates to me as high class, diamonds, and very expensive sort of product based on not only the bottle, but the glittery background, the clear shot and the soft lighting on the product. The blue coming up from behind looks really nice and really separates the product from blending in with the similar colors of the background.

Heineken

This is another really awesomely lit product photo. The greens in the bottle manage to not blend in with the green background as well as the green liquid splashing against it. You can easily see all the shades and hues and the glittery reflections on the water really provide a nice contrast against the dark green and black background.

B'ham bold

This is another really different approach at a product shot. I really like both the composition and the way that the product was lit. The red of the bottle really comes through against the black and the reflections of light on the rest of the bottle are a really nice contrast against the black background. The smoke and ice is also lit really well to show the light behind the object as well as fading out the ice around the edge of the photograph where it is not as important.

Manischewitz

This photo has a really different look than the other product shots that Ive posed. You can tell that this is something very basic that you might see in a walmart catalog. You can tell that the labels were probably brightened and cleaned up to look crisp and clean, and the lighting is very basic and the shot is straight on. But this is a product that you really can't sell by glamoring it up like the high heels. It's something that people buy if they want it, and this basic shot is perfect for just making it look like a basic grocery item.

Heels

http://www.colinbeckett.com/data/photos/156_1r28354_tita_shoe1061_lb.jpg
This photo really achieves a certain look and its definitely not  something you would see in a walmart catalog. The little bit of yellow in the reflection on the shoe really gives a firey look as well as the high contrast between the light hitting the shoe and the black background. The low angle that the photo was taken at really makes the shoes look large and important as well.

Nail Polish

http://www.portraworks.com/commercial_photography/product_photography_la_10.jpg
This photo has really nice lighting as well. All the elements are very reflective and even the surface looks reflective, but the nail polish remains lit kind of softly and you can see that the background was lit as well, which really gives a look like it wasn't set up, like an object on a table, like it just happened in a room. The shades all look great.

Pepsi

I really like the way that this product was lit. The angle they took the photo makes this product look really nice because it looks very large and important.  The lighting is really soft for this can which is very reflective, even with the little water droplets the light makes it look very dimensional and contrasted.

Model Contrast

http://www.aishwaryaraiactress.com/gallery/modeling/large_image/aishwarya-rai-modeling-photos9.jpg
This is another black and white photo that has a nice contrast to it. The eyes really pop and come through as the brightest and most eye catching aspect of the photo. I love the background as well the fact that it fades from light to dark really helps to provide contrast between her black hair and the lighter shades in the background. The face could use more levels because her skintones are looking flat, but otherwise the contrast is nice.

black and white model

I really like the levels on this black and white portrait. I love the way that the bright blue eyes look against the darkness of her features and the rest of the photo. I love that the eyes are the brightest and most eye catching thing in the photo as well as having this mesmerizing look just by having so much contrast between the rest of the photo, especially the lightness in the background coming from behind. There are a lot of tones and shades in this photo which makes for a really interesting black and white portrait.

Barbara Palvin shot

http://rumalis.com/images/2434-model-barbara-palvin.jpg
This is, to me, another bad example of model editing. You can really tell she was edited just by looking at her. She has that perfect smooth skin but the problem is there are practically no shadows in her face and it really has no depth or texture. Her lips are an unnatural color, even for lipstick. The eyes are very very bright and really stand out. There are a lot of shadows behind the eyes but there could be more in the small areas around the eyes and beneath them. This photo just really needs some better levels and more shadows.

Drew Barrymore

http://beausic.files.wordpress.com/2012/10/drew-barrymore-cg-intense-shadow-blast-03.jpg
This is another covergirl photo for mascara, but this photo has a little bit of a smoother and nicer look to it. There is a really stark contrast between her hair and especially the colors but it appears that it was intentional considering the colored mascara is called "intense shadowblast" which really is actually captured by the intense shadows and contrast in the colors of this photo, which really works for the ad.

Covergirl Rhianna

http://apilgriminnarnia.files.wordpress.com/2012/01/covergirl.jpg
You can tell in this edited photo for covergirl, that the rhianna has been edited. Her skin looks very nice and smooth but it keeps the depth of her face without looking flat. The only thing I notice is around her eye is so bright and her right eye looks way too bright as well. This would look a lot more natural if the tones were smoothed down and the levels were adjusted overall. You can also tell that the eyelashes were shopped because of how perfect and separate they are as well.

Milla Jovovich

http://wallpaperciv.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/Beautiful-Milla-Jovovich-Fashion-Model.jpg This image is definitely edited using photoshop. You can tell specifically that around the lips and cheeks that her skin looks very flat and smooth, like it has very little depth. The eyes are very bright and the whites of her eyes and teeth are extremely white. The girls hair was very poorly cropped out of the photograph and placed on the background, you can see the hard edges around her ear especially.

Model Photo

You can tell there were a lot of edits and adjustments to this photo because she almost looks too perfect. All of her features are very smooth and her features are bright and stand out. It's most likely that the individual levels of the features were adjusted as well as the skin was smoothed out and healed using a healing brush.

Bird in the window

http://media.idownloadblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/Unique-angle-1024x1024.jpg
I really like the angle of this photo. It really gives you the impression that you are small and looking straight up to the top of the building. The photo has a decent contrast with the black and white and has really very little going on, which really helps to draw your eyes upwards at the sky, and especially straight at the bird. This composition uses a rule of thirds because the top of the building falls at an interesting angle in the photo. Overall a really nice and interesting photo.

Leaves

http://wallpoper.com/images/00/37/38/40/nature-photography_00373840.jpg
The complimentary colors in this photo are really nice. The bright shades of green and red really compliment each other. I also like the way that the front leafs softly lay overtop of the bottom ones and the rest is kind of faded into the background which gives a really soft look to this overall really vibrant composition.

Pink Flowers

http://s5.favim.com/orig/53/beautiful-flowers-nature-photography-Favim.com-489187.jpg
This is a really nice photograph. I like the contrast between the pink and the green of the background leaves. I love the way that it kind of fades into the background as its blurred. The really soft colors look nice in this photograph and really give a mood of  being shot on a bright sunny day.

Dandelions

http://photoity.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/Nature-Photographs-2.jpgWhat I love about this photo is the fact that its taken at an angle that you wouldn't normally see. you really get the feel of laying on the ground and looking up into the sky. I love the way the dandelions surround the entire edge of the photo and the contrast between them and the sky. This photo is really simple but does a really good job of really bringing the viewer into the shot and feeling like theyre looking up too.

Wet Branch

http://wallpoper.com/images/00/35/50/95/nature-photography_00355095.jpg
I really like the lighting in this photo. you can really see the glisten in every one of the water droplets on this branch. I also like that the background is blurred and it fades out to a darker color on the edge, which really helps lead your eye from one side of the branch to the other. The contrast between the foreground and background is nice because you still get the idea without the photo itself being too busy or cluttered. Overall a really nice photo.

Light in the Trees

http://designgrapher.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/nature-photographs.jpg
This is a really good example of levels in a photograph. The light coming through the trees is perfectly lit and the trees are just dark enough that they arent disappearing but they provide enough contrast against the light to make a really contrasted and interesting photo. Even though there is so much going on, it's still easy to see all the trees and branches and they come together really nicely.
